Services

The Industrial Athlete Inc. offers a wide range of health, physical rehabilitation, fitness and wellness services, spanning the following service areas:

Medical Management

How do injured professional athletes return to their sport within days while an injured employees (with the same injury) require weeks to return to work? The answer is the Sports Medicine Model (SMM). The underlying principles behind the SMM are early recognition, early intervention, aggressive rehabilitation, and prevention. Many employees often work as hard as professional athletes. The SMM approach to preventing and managing your employee's health is good for them and good for your bottom line.

Onsite Rehabilitation

Therapy and rehabilitation costs are expensive. An onsite rehabilitation program for your employees means your employees will not have to travel to an off-site rehabilitation facility. An off-site rehab visit typically requires an employee to be gone 2 or more hours during the workday for each visit! TIA bills on a flat fee basis. There is no insurance billing for workers' compensation claims which makes it easier for your company to budget their estimated rehab expenses.

Early Recognition & Early Intervention

Every case of carpal tunnel syndrome probably started with wrist pain and inflammation. Those who required surgery likely did not intervene when the pain and inflammation was first noticed. Through our unique and customizable Musculo-Skeletal Disorder Signs and Symptoms education program, TIA informs employees on recognizing potential injuries. The key to the program is Early Recognition & Early Intervention (EREI). Utilizing EREI enables employees to manage injuries early so they do not progress into chronic, long-term problems.

First Aid/Initial Injury Care

Approximately half of all workplace injuries are strains and sprains; which, in most cases, do not require an emergency room visit. In reality, strains and sprains are effectively treated with ice, rest, light stretching exercises and non-prescription strength anti-inflammatory medication. Our staff can provide acute injury evaluations and medical care to determine the most appropriate treatment options for your injured employees.

Wellness and Health Promotion

Research has well-documented the financial benefits of an employee wellness program. TIA offers a wide variety of programs related to improving the health and wellness of your employees.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics is more than just a stretching program! TIA utilizes ergonomic analysis tools well-accepted by ergonomic experts to objectively determine the potential risk associated with job tasks. Most importantly, TIA's ergonomic experts use cost-effective analysis tools to provide both administrative and engineering solutions to address high-risk areas.

Fitness Research

Fitness Researchshows that increasing one's fitness level improves a number of health risks. Research also shows that the closer a fitness facility to one's home, the greater the utilization. An onsite fitness center offers convenient and easy access to a fitness facility, which will result in numerous benefits for both employee and employer.
